A new upcoming group from Israel is out with their first album on Phonokol...

Nissimyani is one of several upcoming new Israeli stars coming out of Phonokol lately. Nissimyani is Yan Azulay and Nissim Mohrdeb.

The cover art on this release is pretty funny… The first track has some voice samples about a trip report, and some groovy full on rhythms. It sounds a lot like other artists who have released on Phonokol lately, like Melicia, Dynamic etc. You also get some cool melodies after a while. Full on melodic trance, but not in a noisy way. Some of the melodies remind me of older israelitrance like Astral Projection etc. Track 2 starts nice and floating, before a few breaks and melodies takes us into the full on pumping rhythms again. Typical morning sound, with nice, but crazy melodies. You get some drug voice samples in there too. Track 3 is a bit darker, still with melodies that reminds me of some older israelitrance. Then suddenly in the middle of the track, we get a really cheesy part, with some guitar sounds and a very cheesy melody. From there on, the track gets very melodic. Track 4 is full of voices talking about drugs. I’m getting a bit tired of all that drug talk in so many full on tracks, and in this one I think they go a bit too far. Enough is enough…

Track 5 start with floating morning sounds, before we get some nice drifting rhythms that go on for a while, before the floating sounds come back and give us a little break. Then the rhythms start rolling again. This track is not as melodic as the rest of the tracks on this album. Track 6 builds up, and become a really full on melodic track. Track 7 goes the same direction, but with a bit more cheesy and simple melodies. Track 8 sounds better, with more trippy melodies. Track 9 goes back to more of that older Israeli trance style, with more old school melodies etc. The last track on this album is a slower going, stumpy track. This is actually my favourite track on this album. This also sounds a bit old school.

This album is good if you like the new full on melodic style, and here you also get a touch of old Israeli style, which should please several old school lovers out there. But, there are some parts of these tracks that sound a bit cheesy and simple, and there are bit too much stupid voice samples. Away from that, this is a pretty good album.
