A new label called Liquid & Solid Records is out with their first release...

Liquid & Solid is a brand new label, now releasing their first compilation. It is compiled by dj Stomas and it is produced by Neurobiotic Records. They sure have got their hands on some big artists and exclusive tracks.

Alfa (Liquid & Solid Records) 2003 (LSD001)

1. Wizzy Noise – Liquid & Solid
2. Spectrum Vs. The Antidote – Experience
3. Sesto Sento Vs. Bishop – It’s All About Trust
4. Orion – Sync The Zink
5. Central Processing Unit (CPU) Vs. Atomic Pulse – D. M. Tizzz
6. Altom – Balkanized
7. Jaia Vs. Wizzy Noise – Crystal Noise
8. Silicon Sound – Jaguar Rmx
9. S. O. S. Vs. The Antidote – Break Out

First out is a new track by Wizzy Noise (Micky Noise and Uriel) I find really tasteful. I have never been a big fan of Wizzy Noise, but this track is really nice. A stumpy track with a lot of floating sounds and cool drifting melodies. Nice one. Track 2 is surprisingly a collaboration with one of my favourite artists, The Antidote (Serge Souque) and Spectrum (Tamir Ozana and Dj Dede). It has a deep groovy drift like Spectrum use to have, and a few jumpy sounds I’m sure The Antidote is involved in. But the track is not very varied, and can easily get a little bit boring. Track 3 is a collaboration between Sesto Sento who just released their second album on Com.Pact Records, and a guy called Bishop. Heavy rolling bass lines and full on sounds. Not among my favourite tracks on this compilation. Then we get a new track by one of my favourite artists, Orion (Jean Borelli)! He just released his third album (Artificial Frequencies), this time on Solstice Music. The track we get here is not on the album. You get a lot of the crazy psychedelic sounds you always find in his tracks. Pretty dark and drifting.

After a wonderful trippy track by Orion, we get a collaboration between CPU (Samy Guediche) who just released an album on 3D Vision Records, and Atomic Pulse (Tamir Ozana and Yair Bar-On). This track sounds more like Atomic Pulse than CPU. Full on, dark trance with a voice sample saying DMT. Definitely not as noisy as the CPU album. Track 6 is served by Altom (Thomas Dubreuil) from France. He gives us the usual heavy rolling bass lines and some floating parts perfect for the morning. Then we get a really interesting track, surprisingly with Jaia involved! Jaia has split up, and is now only one person (Yannis Kamarinos). Here he has collaborated with Wizzy Noise, and made a pretty cool track. Melodic and full on drifting trance. Track 8 is by Silicon Sound (Johannes Regnier) who surprised everybody with a fantastic melodic full on album (Pure Analog) on Moon Spirits Records this year. Here we get a new groovy track, which is melodic as usual from this guy. Great morning trance with beautiful melodies, without getting too cheesy. The last track on this compilation is another interesting collaboration with The Antidote involved. Here he has worked with S.O.S., which are Dimitri Nakov and Tamir Ozana. It’s a hard pumping track with crazy melodies. After a few minutes we get a break with tribal drums too. Pretty cool track.

This compilation was surprisingly good, but maybe not as surprising when you look at who are involved in these tracks. Recommended!
