Easy Star All-Stars "Dub Side Of The Moon"

Top level Music reviews

Here is something pretty different. A remix album of the classic Pink Floyd album, Dark Side Of The Moon! That’s pretty psychedelic music, and since this is dub remixes, this will for sure fit right into a chill out set, and that’s why I put in a little review of it here. Easy Star All-Stars is a group of several reggae artists with a strong connection to Jamaican music. They are based in New York, where their label Easy Star Records is based. They give is Dub Side Of The Moon…

I’m not going into details in this review, but in this album you get mostly deep dub rhythms with a lot of reggae vocals, with all the classic Pink Floyd guitar ingredients mixed in. You will for sure recognise the tracks while listening to it. They have also added some more sounds and samples. A cool album to surprise your Pink Floyd loving friends with, or put into a chill out set. Some tracks is a bit more electronic than others, like track 2 that is influenced a little bit by drum ‘n’ bass. Some people might think the reggae vocals get a bit over the top, but it is for sure chilling.

Personally I enjoyed this album a lot and I think it’s pretty funny at the same time as it’s pretty good dub music. For sure an album I will play several times in the future. Check it out if you want some extra spice to your chilled moments.
