Algorhythm "Soul Of Electro"

Top level Music reviews

FA Music is a new label in Israel, now out with their first release, which is an album by a group (probably brothers) called Algorhythm (Oded K.dar and Yuval K.dar). They have made a varied chill out album with influences of several different music styles.

The first track starts with some classic piano and relaxed drum`n bass rhythms. Then we get some happy vocals by a guy named Dganit Daddo. We also get some female vocals. Not very psychedelic, but happy chill out. Track 2 is a bit more slow going jazzy track with a pleasant melody. Track 3 is really funky, with some guitar alike melody going slowly into the track. One of my favourite tracks on this album. Definitely psychedelic too. In the middle of the track we get a break with the sound of police cars, before the happy chilled vibes starts rolling again. Track 4 has some nice floating sounds, tribal rhythms, groovy bass and cool psychedelic sounds. I really like this track! A track I will for sure play many times on chill out sets. Track 5 reminds me of some psychedelic music from the seventies or something, like Gong etc. At least I think they are inspired by music like that. A really cool track. Track 6 has a happy electro vibe all the way through, with a totally twisted melody. If you want to make someone smile, turn on this one! Track 7 is a beautiful track, which sounds a bit more sad. Very melodic easy listening. Another favourite on the album. Track 8 has more psychedelic sounds and a very floating vibe. The melodies in this track reminds me a bit of the good old Future Loop Foundation who released albums on Planet Dog Recordings. I like the way the track changes all the way. The female voice in this one is really beautiful too. Nice one. Track 9 slows a bit more down again, with mostly relaxed floating sounds, some guitar and several really beautiful sounds just jumping in and out. Track 10 starts with fast tribal rhythms and a groovy bass rhythm. Almost like samba! Not among my favourites. The last track on this album also goes pretty fast and pumping. It reminds me of some old melodic hard trance, but in a bit more chilled way.

I really enjoyed most of the tracks on this album, and they get better and better each time I listen to them, but I think all the tracks are to short. They should have lasted longer, especially some of those really beautiful chilled tracks. An album pretty different from most other chill out released these days.
