Nu-Clear Visions Of Israel 1

Top level Music reviews

TIP.World has had a pretty strong connection with the Israeli trance scene. Now they are out with a new compilation, this time based on only trance from Israel. The new Israeli star on the trance scene is obviously Astrix (Avi Shmailov), and now he has compiled the new compilation on TIP.World. This is the first compilation in a little Isratrance series TIP.World has started.

Nu-Clear Visions Of Israel 1 (TIP.World Records) 2003 (TIPWCD028)

1. Sub 6 – Pounding
2. Astrix – Disco Valley
3. Psy Sex – Alien Cop
4. Hujaboy – Rake
5. Cosma – Nonstop
6. Xerox & Illumination – Temporary Insanity
7. Delirious – Dynamic Force
8. Psy Craft – Top Gun
9. Astrix & Atomic Pulse – Valirus (Sub 6 Remix)

First out is a track by Sub 6, which are two brothers (Ohad and Bolan Aharoni). Not among the best tracks I have heard from them. Sort of a mild version of Alien Project. Heavy rolling rhythms, but not much more. Track 2 is by Astrix him self, with his track Disco Valley (named after a famous party spot in Goa). To me, this track sounds a bit simple, and it is not among the best tracks Astrix has come out with. Some sort of Infected rhythms, with an Astrix flow over it. The melodies sounds a bit simple too in my ears. Track 3 is by Psy Sex, remixed by Goblin. This track has a weird beginning, before the rhythms starts banging. The track becomes pretty full on, but in my ears it gets pretty boring. They could have added some more creativity maybe? Track 4 is by Hujaboy (Nir Shoshani) who likes it a bit more minimal. A stumpy track with a nice groove, but I miss some more creativity in this one too. Track 5 is a taste of Cosmas (R.I.P.) second and last album Nonstop, released on HOMmega Productions this spring. This is a pretty good track in a typical Cosma style, somewhere between progressive and full on.

Xerox and Illumination (Moshe Keinan and Amir Dvir) have collaborated on several tracks lately (check out the 7 Eleven compilation on Hommega). Here we get a taste of their work on track 6. A nice dark full on track with some nice floating melodies. The voice samples in this one is also used by Hallucinogen. Then we get a track by Delirious. A full on melodic track of the kind we are getting pretty much of from Israel these days. Light melodies mixed in with full on heavy rhythms. Track 8 is by Psy Craft who likes to mix in some guitars etc. Here we get a track with guitar and quite a lot of female vocals. Reminds me a lot of Infected Mushroom, but this sounds a bit more cheesy. The last track on this compilation is a collaboration between Astrix and Atomic Pulse, but here we get a remix by Sub6. This one goes a bit slower than the other tracks. Some more variation would be nice, but it sounds pretty pleasant.

In my opinion this is one of the worst compilations TIP.World has released so far. TIP.World has for sure been lacking of quality on their latest releases, and it seems like they are following the trends for money instead of going for quality like they did before. This compilation isn`t a good picture of good quality trance from Israel either.
